Coleraine mini Car Boot Sale
This month’s NCCE meeting took place in the Mount Sandel Centre in Coleraine.
The planned car boot sale there was cancelled, so we held our own table top sale indoor and several transactions took place amongst members (books, plants, power wash, music instruments, clothes)
Olivier and Elaine gave an overview of the way the NCCE is growing and how many transactions have been exchanged in the past three years (1,000 transactions, 25,000 waves traded since the launch in February 2022)
It was also explained how donations of waves, from the levy received for every transaction, will be donated to organisations, such as Reach, Swell, Coastal Vocals, etc. on a regular basis.
There was an opportunity for members, new and established, to ask questions and say what has and hasn’t worked well for them.
The success of the community work day in Donegal was discussed and it is planned for a similar day during the summer. The few things that we need to put in place to ensure everyone’s safety will be looked at before the next work day.
Organisations now involved in the exchange now are Swell, Reach, Bronagh’s yoga, North Coast Sangha. All organisations accept wave donations and some need volunteers. Check the wants regularly to see where there are volunteering opportunities within the exchange.
