5 28 Apr 2025 Let's Repair! Repair Café workshop

Our LET’S REPAIR! stall at the fantastic Magpie Bazaar back in March was met with a great response - there has been a lot of interest in forming a Repair Cafe to provide more regular access to repairs in Portrush.
Repair Cafe Northern Ireland have new staff and resources available to support us, and have offered two workshops to help us get started. More information on who they are and what they can offer - https://www.repaircafe.org/
Please join us at 2.30pm Monday 12th May, in the Meeting Room at the Town Hall.
This is an open invitation, which we hope will build support in addition to those who’ve already expressed an interest. If you’d like to be part of a Repair Cafe, but can’t make the first workshop, please get in touch so we can include you in future communications.

7 26 Apr 2025 May Meetup and Community Team Work

NCCE meeting and work day in Donegal hosted by Liz - 10 May

Date : Saturday 10 May 2025
Location : Gortcormacan, Muff, Co.Donegal FW93 XW40

It will be a full day event to which you can participate in a community team working day, a social meetup including food, walks in nature and/or mini-carboot sale for waves only.

Liz (NCCE0099) lives between Muff and Burnfoot, and to give you an idea of the beautiful experience we will have together, we are giving you a link to her daughter's business website. This is a beautiful professional venue (https://www.waterandwildwood.com/) with woodland, lakes, accommodation and venue hire.

You will have the opportunity to EARN waves at a TEAM WORK EVENT. Liz is looking for people who can bring their own chainsaw in order to clear some wood. Help needed would also be:

  •  Stack or  load the cut timber into a dumper.
  • Clear some areas along the stream

This will also be a SOCIAL EVENT where Liz will provide the venue (front garden if the weather is good and the conservatory if we are needing shelter) teas and coffees will be provided but  help  with setup and clearing away will be appreciated.

You will have the opportunity to bring food (savoury or sweet) that others can buy or give donations for on the day.

You can also EARN waves by offering lifts to and from the event and if you have space, don't forget to fill your boot with items for a MINI CAR BOOT SALE.

TEAM WORK EVENT: from 10.30am
SOCIAL EVENT: from mid-day including CARBOOT SALE, FOOD and MEETING
